My Short Story Topic

Please post here why you chose this specific direction and a brief idea of where you want the story to lead.

For my short story topic I would like to take the character of Esperanza and write a short story about her life after she left Mango Street, or if she ever even got that far? I would like to write about her early 20's life, but I would not like to keep the vignette style. In this short story, Esperanza will look back at who she was (by using contextual evidence from the novel) and who she is (constructed by writer through inferences made by reader.)
